BRM releases new cylinder hones for diesel engines

Brush Research Manufacturing (BRM), maker of flexible hones and a full line of industrial brushes, announced plans to release a flexible cylinder honing tool for overhauling diesel engines.

The Flex-Hone breaks the glaze on cylinder walls, leaving a smooth surface finish can improve lubrication and friction.

When cylinder honing is complete, Flex-Hone says its customers, such as Caterpillar, use warm soapy water for cleanup. In addition to high-quality brush tools, BRM supplies high-quality cylinder wash brushes made of 6-12 Nylon in diameters ranging from 3.5-in to 6.5-in. After cleaning an engine block, remember to lubricate metal surfaces properly.
