“The three top drawers provide a new level of efficiency as a tech doesn’t have to bend over to reach the majority of often-used tools,” says Jay Serpe, a Snap-on Tools product manager. “IQON also meets a growing need for maximum storage capacity in compact service bays, as the 24-in. depth of the unit leaves room for fully extended drawers between the wall and vehicle. IQON roll cabs are built with the toughness and drawer capacity of our deeper units, while being designed as an exclusive tool storage solution, which customers expect from Snap-on.”
IQON cabs also feature extra case corner gussets, which reinforce the entire structure, preventing cabinet racking and allowing use of additional drawer space by eliminating the need for a crossbar to support the middle. The fully-welded drawers include ball-bearing slides that support up to 227 lb. per drawer and up to 554 lb. on the double slide drawers. Additional lower cabinet welds ensure these cabinets are manufactured to endure everyday use. As an added strength benefit, the top edges of the side walls are doubled down 360 degrees and then inward 90 degrees to create a plane for welding to the top panel. This continuous metal support produces spot welds with functional strength 10 times that of welds along the side. The IQON line is available in more than 10 different color schemes, according to an announcement.
