Milwaukee Tool has introduced the M18 FUEL 1/4-in. Blind Rivet Tool w/ONE-KEY. Engineered with its advanced M18 FUEL technology, the company says the new tool installs rivets up to 50 percent faster and delivers up to 3 times longer life versus competitive cordless rivet tools, all while eliminating the hassle and maintenance of pneumatic compressors and hoses.
“Over two years ago, our M12 Rivet Tool disrupted the market as the world’s first cordless rivet tool for the professional trades that created a viable replacement for outdated and, frankly, strenuous hand tool riveting solutions,” says Eric Rusch, Milwaukee Tool group product manager. “By capitalizing on our M18 FUEL technology, we are now capable of delivering an even faster and far more productive cordless riveting solution for users to fully replace air tools.”
The new M18 FUEL blind rivet tool combines three exclusive innovations — the PowerState Brushless Motor, RedLithium battery pack and RedLink Plus Intelligence. The PowerState Brushless Motor delivers 4,500 lb. (20kN) of pulling force for high strength blind rivets in all materials. M18™ RedLithium batteries deliver more work per charge and more work over the life of the pack, installing up to (900) 3/16-in. aluminum or (500) 1/4-in. aluminum blind rivets in one charge. RedLink Plus Intelligence ensures maximum performance and protects against overload, over-heating and over-discharge.
Complete with a 3-jaw design built with premium steel alloy materials, the rivet tool jaws last longer than alternative solutions on the market to minimize downtime and deliver more work between jaw changes. The blind rivet tool is built with an all-metal gearcase, impact strength plastics and a protective over-mold to withstand harsh shop, plant and field environments while maintaining a lightweight feel.
As an added benefit, ONE-KEY provides the ability to track, manage, and secure the rivet tool.
The rivet tool comes with a set of four retention nose pieces (3/16 in., 7/32 in., 1/4 in. and 9/32 in.) to hold blind rivets in place once inserted into the tool. Complete with onboard storage, the tool allows for all four retention nose pieces, as well as the wrench for switching between sizes, to be stored on the tool. For versatility, non-retention nose pieces are available separately. For added utility, a protective boot is available to offer a lightweight, durable solution for tool and workpiece protection and an available 6-in. extension allows users to install rivets in hard to reach applications, the company says.
