Fontaine Modification recently rolled the 20,000th truck off the line at its Statesville, North Carolina, modification center. It's a 2024 Freightliner Cascadia Class 8 tractor for Penske Truck Leasing.
The Statesville plant, which builds about 50 trucks per week, supports trucks built at Freightliner Cleveland and the Mt. Holly Truck Manufacturing Plant, as well as the Freightliner Custom Chassis Manufacturing Plant in South Carolina.
"Along with celebrating the delivery of the 20,000th truck from Statesville, we also celebrate our valued employees for their commitment to producing the highest-quality services and products for all our customers," says Jamil Young, president of Fontaine Modification.
The Cascadia was outfitted with a Thermo King TriPac auxiliary power unit.
"Fontaine Modification streamlines and simplifies the delivery of our trucks, eliminating normal supply chain issuse," says Paul Rosa, senior vice president of procurement and fleet planning at Penske Truck Leasing. "Our customers receive their trucks on time and ready to start driving down the road immediately."
Fontaine's Statesville location installs telematics, hydraulic systems, suspension, alternative fuel powertrains and makes specialized truck bodies. There are 10 modification centers around the country located adjacent to OEM plants in North Carolina, Ohio, Michigan, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.
