Howes Products announced Tyler Robertson, founder and CEO of Diesel Laptops, as the newest member of the Howes Hall of Fame, recognizing Robertson’s outstanding contributions to the diesel industry.
Likewise: His company’s unwavering commitment to supporting technicians, fleets and equipment owners across North America.
The honor was announced with formal celebration by Howes and Diesel Laptops during the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Kentucky, where industry leaders, technicians, fleets and owner-operators gather to showcase the future of trucking and diesel technology.
Founded by Robertson, Diesel Laptops began as a bootstrapped operation driven by a simple goal: help people fix diesel trucks more effectively. It was a one-man operation in Robertson’s garage at launch in 2012, yet today it's grown into a nearly $100 million company with approximately 180 employees, serving more than 80,000 customers annually.
The company's increasingly well-known Diesel Decoder plugin device is a fault code reader and parts-ID assist (among other functions) for owner-operators to help speed diagnosis and repair via a bluetooth connection to a smartphone app, convenient at roadside.
Yet Diesel Laptops is known not just as a diagnostics provider, but as a diesel technician efficiency provider of tools, repair information, training, remote diagnostics, and live expert support through a unified platform.
Diesel Laptops has earned numerous awards over the years. The company is recognized as one of the fastest-growing in South Carolina, named South Carolina Exporter of the Year, and received a governor’s proclamation recognizing Diesel Laptop Days in the state.
Through it all, Robertson remains humble, driven.

The company provides access to diagnostic tools across brands, maps hundreds of thousands of fault codes to real-world repair solutions, delivers ongoing technician training, and supports customers through a staffed call center of experienced diesel technicians and IT professionals.
Recent innovations, including VIN-to-parts technology and remote monitoring platforms, continue to push the industry toward faster, smarter, and more efficient repairs.

Diesel Laptops now joins an elite group whose collective influence has helped shape the trucking industry and will continue to impact its future.

Though not on display in the booth, grab one of Howes' product brochures there for a little information on a revamped version of its Meaner Power Kleaner, formerly formulated for the ag diesel equipment market yet retooled for single-dose treatment for diesels in need of a deep clean of the "entire fuel system," providing "rapid injector clean-up" and "reduction in frequency of regens" in diesel-particular-filter equipped systems.
