Safety Recalls

The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):

  • Altec Industries is recalling certain 2025 AP Series vehicles. The brake air line compression fitting may not be tightened correctly, which can allow the supply line or other air lines to detach and cause the chassis emergency brakes to engage. Unexpected activation of the emergency brakes may cause the vehicle to stop suddenly, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 45 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2023-2025 F-150 vehicles equipped with the Trailer Tow Max Duty package and a 9.75-in., heavy duty axle with a 3/4 float axle design. The rear axle hub bolt may fatigue and break, which can result in damage to the axle hub splines. Damaged axle hub splines can result in a vehicle rollaway when in park without the parking brake applied or cause a loss of drive power. Either of these conditions can increase the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 103,174 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2022 F-150 vehicles that were repaired incorrectly under recalls 22V686 and 23V802. The parking lights may flicker when the headlights are activated. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." Flickering parking lights can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 2,371 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2022 F-150 vehicles that were repaired incorrectly under recall 22V686. The parking lights may flicker when the headlights are activated. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." Flickering parking lights can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 1,278 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Fontaine Modification Company is recalling certain 2022-2024 Freightliner Business Class M2 vehicles. Welds may crack and fail, allowing the Intermediate steering shaft assembly to detach from the steering column. A steering shaft that detaches can result in a loss of steering, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 176 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • International Motors is recalling certain 2016-2023 IC Bus CESB school buses. The brake pressure switch assembly may leak brake fluid into the brake pressure switch's electrical components and cause an electrical short-circuit. An electrical short in the brake pressure switch can overheat the circuit and increase the risk of a fire while driving or parked. NHTSA says 16,553 units are potentially affected by the recall and has issued a "Fire Risk Warning" warning for those units.
  • International Motors is recalling certain 2018 International 4000 Series 4300, 2017-2025 MV, 2018-2024 1300 FBC, 2018-2025 IC Bus TC, and 2024-2025 IC Bus CECB vehicles. The brake pressure switch assembly may leak brake fluid into the brake pressure switch's electrical components and cause an electrical short-circuit. An electrical short in the brake pressure switch can overheat the circuit and increase the risk of a fire while driving or parked.  NHTSA says 4,764 units are potentially affected by the recall and has issued a "Fire Risk Warning" warning for those units.
  • International Motors is recalling certain 2024-2026 IC Bus CESB and 2025 EVSB school buses. The tension spring may corrode and break, disengaging the barking brake. A parking brake that is not engaged as expected when the driver releases the brakes may allow the vehicle to rollaway, increasing the risk of crash.  NHTSA says 3,230 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • International Motors is recalling certain 2024-2026 LT and 2025 RH trucks. The Hill Start Assist (HSA) exhaust port may become clogged, delaying or preventing the release of the service brakes. Brakes that are still engaged while driving increase the risk of crash. NHTSA says 1,129 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Mack Trucks is recalling certain 2025 Anthem and 2025-2026 Pioneer vehicles. The dynamic steering and oversteer guidance feature may malfunction and cause a loss of steering control. A loss of steering control increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 32 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • The Heil Co. is recalling certain 2021-2022 front end loader garbage trucks. The vertical welds on the automatic front loader (AFL) arm may be missing, causing the arm to crack and fall. A falling arm increases the risk of injury. NHTSA says 251 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • The Heil Co. is recalling certain 2024 front end loader garbage trucks. The fuel shutoff solenoid may fail, resulting in an engine stall while driving. An engine stall increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 222 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Volvo Trucks North America is recalling certain 2025-2026 Volvo New VN trucks. The dynamic steering and oversteer guidance feature may malfunction and cause a loss of steering control. A loss of steering control increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 2,487 units are potentially affected by the recall.
