Morgan Truck Body showed off two new concept truck bodies, Agora and Blackjack, at Work Truck Week 2024 in Indianapolis.

"Reflecting years of design evolution, the Morgan concept bodies are built with a focus on aerodynamics, lightweighting, improved ergonomics and enhanced situational awareness for increased driver convenience and productivity," says Corby Stover, Morgan Truck Body president. "These designs represent the continuing evolution of the Morgan Truck Body to meet future market and customer needs."

Agora is featured on an Isuzu FTR chassis while Blackjack is on an International eMV battery electric chassis. Innovations on both bodies include:

  • Extended range and efficiency with military-grade advanced composites to shape airflow around the body to reduce drag and improve aerodynamics for both traditional fuel engines and electric vehicles.
  • A mid-panel translucent roof that allows natural sunlight to pass through while reducing heat transfer to the truck body.
  • Lightweight body components, including an aluminum subframe that is anti-corrosive.
  • Ergonomic enhancements and features such as motion sensor-activated LED strip lighting and an encapsulated hardwood floor with an anti-slip surface.

New features unique to the Agora body are:

  • Rivetless smooth wall aluminum construction.
  • An 18% reduction in aerodynamic drag to improve fuel economy and extend range, no matter the engine type.
  • A powered rear overhead door and powered side canister door to reduce physical strain. The doors can be operated from a touchscreen in the cab, remote key fobs or keyless entry.
  • Cargo area cameras that offer both internal and external 360-degree views that can be viewed from both the cab and cargo area. Rear and side blind-spot monitors can also alert drivers of potential moving hazards.

New features for the Blackjack include:

  • Structural composite foam core wall panels.
  • A 20% reduction in drag to improve economy and extend the range for both traditional and battery electric vehicles.
  • Digital rear-view mirror with back-up proximity sensors, 360-degree and internal cargo area cameras and hazard detection.
