Mack's medium-duty MD Electric work track is now available for order.
The MD Electric is a sibling to the diesel-powered Mack MD. The zero-emissions battery electric vehicle is available in Class 6 and 7 ratings that are both exempt from the 12% federal excise tax. The Mack MD Electric will be produced in Roanoke Valley, Virginia.

Since we introduced the MD Electric in March, we've received overwhelming customer response and interest, so we're happy that customers can now place their orders."
The Mack MD Electric Class 6 has a gross vehicle weight rating of 25,995 pounds. The Class 7 is rated at 33,000 pounds. The truck's three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor and all on-board accessories are powered by nickel manganese cobalt oxide lithium-ion batteries, either in a 150kWh or 240 kWh configuration. It can be charged through AC or DC charging units and features a regenerative braking system to help recapture energy from stopping.
The MD Series cab features an industry-best bumper-to-back-of-cab (BBC) measurement of 103 inches. It will be available in dry van, reefer, stake/flatbed and dump vocations. The MD6 does not require a CDL for non-hazardous payloads.
The Mack MD Electric is approved for the California Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Program (HVIP).
