Cummins to close Indiana distribution center

Cummins is closing its Whitestown, Ind., regional distribution center (RDC). Fifty-nine employees will be laid off.

The site, located at 4820 S. Indianapolis Road, Whitestown, is closing "as the result of the company's decision to consolidate the operation into multi RDCs for a more cohesive operation." 

The layoffs will begin July 31 and continue through Aug. 31. The action is expected to be permanent a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification letter filed with the state of Indiana says.
