Plomin new chairman of HDMA forum

Hdma LogoSteve Plomin of Orafol Americas has been named the new chairman of the Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association’s (HDMA) Heavy Duty Marketing and Sales Forum (HDMSF), the group announced Tuesday.

The HDMSF is a council comprised of sales and marketing executives of HDMA member companies. This council is designed to drive the direction and content of HDMA market research publications, peer networking, as well as to discuss industry trends and forecasts, HDMA says.

Plomin has been a member of HDMSF since 2009, and has served on the board of HDMSF since 2014. He has been with Orafol for 10 years, and also has held previous sales positions with Delco Remy and Grote Industries.

As manager of the Transportation Market, Plomin is responsible at Orafol for leading the direction and strategy of the commercial truck and trailer, rail, agricultural, school bus, and fire/EMS business in North and South America. In addition to his HDMSF chairman position, Plomin also is active with TSEI (Transportation Safety Equipment Institute) TTMA (Truck & Trailer Manufacturers Association) ASABE (American Society of Agricultural Biological Engineers) NATM (National Association of Trailer Manufacturers) TMC (Technology & Maintenance Council) and NTDA (National Trailers Dealers Association).
