The Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA) announces the formation of the new Heavy Duty Tool & Equipment Council (HDTESC).

HDMA says the purpose of the HDTESC is to provide a forum, under the guidance of its Board of Governors, for the discussion of key trends and issues affecting manufacturers of tools and equipment used to service heavy-duty vehicle applications.

The new forum had its first meeting at Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) in January, and will have one additional meeting during the 2017 year, in August in the Chicago area.

“The HDTESC is being formed due to an established need for such a program for this market sector, based on member feedback over the past two years,” says Tim Kraus, president and COO of HDMA.

Founding companies and their primary representatives include John Iliff, American Forge and Foundry (HDTESC Founding Chair), Jeff Steer, Goodall Manufacturing, Kirk Dawson, Rotary Lift, and Chad Osier, Schumacher Electric.

All four founding members currently comprise the HDTESC Board of Governors. HDMA says the HDTESC will be a select group of no more than 50 senior executives at its maturity, from leading HDMA member tool and equipment manufacturer companies.

HDMA says meetings of the HDTESC are closed to non-council members.
