Trucking's Future with Inspections on ComputerLaw enforcement across North America will be participating in CVSA’s Operation Safe Driver Week Oct. 15-21.

Truck drivers should prepare for increased scrutiny by law enforcement later this month as the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance will embark upon its annual Operation Safe Driver Week, aimed at combating unsafe driving behaviors by truckers and passenger car drivers.

The annual enforcement blitz is scheduled for the week of Oct. 15-21. Officers will be looking for speeding, distracted driving, texting and driving, seatbelt usage, following too closely, improper lane changes, failure to obey traffic safety devices and more.

CVSA’s Operation Safe Driver Program was created to help to reduce the number of crashes, deaths and injuries involving large trucks, buses and passenger vehicles due to unsafe driving behaviors, according to a statement from the CVSA.

Education is also part of the program, and law enforcement will offer educational and awareness safety programs to truckers and the motoring public.
