Pressure Systems International’s Jim Herzog and Brenna MurphyPressure Systems International (PSI) continues to show support for the Northwood University program with a recent hire and promotion of the school’s graduates.

Brenna Murphy, Class of 2019, is the latest Northwood University graduate to join PSI. Murphy started with the company on June 10 as operations manager, with responsibility for inventory planning, purchasing and supplier development.

Another Northwood graduate, Jim Herzog (Class of 2015), who previously held the operations manager position, is now in the sales and marketing group. Herzog will begin his sales tenure with the responsibility for regional fleets and dealers, as well as providing inside sales support for North American and global distributors.

In addition to recruiting full-time employees from Northwood, PSI has been active in sponsoring students attending Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week each year to encourage real-world learning in this industry segment. Sponsoring students at the event also provides a great opportunity to pair students with companies that provide the best fit for employment, the company says.

“PSI is a true believer in Northwood University and how they prepare their students and graduates for a career in the commercial vehicle industry,” says Tim Musgrave, president and CEO. “Our industry is unique and knowing that we are hiring people with the fundamental knowledge of how it works gives us confidence that they will succeed here.”

Donna Wagner, department chair/associate professor, aftermarket management, Northwood University, says, “We are excited about our relationship with PSI. Jim and Brenna are excellent examples of what happens when industry and education come together. Internships allow students and companies to develop relationships for future employment. Students have the ability to apply what they learn in the classroom and improve their knowledge and skillsets.”

Herzog and Murphy were aftermarket majors at Northwood.
