The following employment changes were announced to the trucking industry last week (Nov. 11-Nov. 17, 2019).

  • Jim Sylvester, vice president of sales, Stertil-Koni, has retired after 21 years of sales and distributor support.
  • HDA Truck Pride has appointed Bryan Funke chief operating officer.
  • Sirco Industries appointed Scott Smith as vice president of sales and marketing.
  • Don Bigler, current board member and one of BBB’s founders, has received the Remanufacturing Industries Council (RIC) ACE Award.
  • Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores has promoted Jenny Love Meyer to the new position of executive vice president, chief culture officer.
  • The Used Truck Association (UTA) awarded its Marvin F. Gordon Lifetime Achievement Award to Charles Cathey for a career that has spanned more than 48 years.
  • The UTA also named its 2020 officers and board of directors, which include President Rick Clark, Vice President Amy Shahan, Treasurer Craig Kendall, Secretary Terry Williams, President Emeritus Marty Crawford and Directors Jay Burgess, Rick Clark, Michael Cox, Hal Dickson, Anthony Gansle, Brandon Hess, Craig Kendall, Michelle Ober, Tim Ronan, Mike Roney, Amy Shahan, Doug Shields, Bobby Williams and Terry Williams.
