Cooper Tire to replace RDC with larger, modern facility

Cooper Tire & Rubber Company announced it will open a new 1 million sq.-ft. regional distribution center in Whiteland, Ind.

The facility, near the company’s current Franklin, Ind., warehouse, will replace the Franklin site with all employees expected to transition to the new location, the company says. The Whiteland facility is currently under construction and is expected to open in early 2021. It will provide increased capacity for product storage and a modern design for enhanced efficiencies.

“We are excited to build a larger regional distribution center in this key location to ensure we continue to provide our customers with exceptional service through enhanced logistics capabilities,” says Mike Calabro, executive director, North America supply chain, Cooper Tire.

“Further, the dedicated workforce at the facility will remain in place, meaning we will be able to quickly transition to this new location with no interruption in the timely delivery of our products to customers,” Calabro says.

The Whiteland distribution center will be one of six regional distribution centers operated by Cooper in the U.S. The company’s North America distribution network also includes three plant manufacturing warehouses and two mixing warehouses, Cooper Tire says.
