Phillips introduces liftgate electrical assembly with dual pole plug connection

Updated May 16, 2019

Phillips Industries introduces the Weather-Tite M2 liftgate electrical assembly. Phillips says the new assembly features the only dual pole plug connection on the market today that offers superior corrosion protection and is interchangeable with any standard J3082 liftgate socket.

Phillips Industries designed the Weather-Tite M2for dual pole applications specifically to eliminate corrosion build up that can easily occur at the coupled lift-gate connection, slowing down or completely blocking the charge to the liftgate batteries, resulting in downtime and delayed deliveries. The company says the Weather-Tite M2 liftgate assembly is just the latest product developed by Phillips Industries designed to combat the high cost of corrosion anywhere in the liftgate electrical system.

With its unbreakable, non-corrosive plug housing completely molded to the electrical cable, Phillips says Weather-Tite M2 is a durable solution that is impervious to water and contaminants at the back of the plug.  The moisture blocking Weather-Tite M2 seal at the front of the plug keeps contaminants from entering the socket cavity, preventing corrosion from developing and traveling past the union inside the socket into the liftgate electrical system.  Assemblies are available with heavy-duty jacketing in straight and coiled versions and come in varying lengths with a choice of two or four gauge fine stranded copper wiring, the company says.

Phillips adds the Weather-Tite M2 will be on display at booth 713 during Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) 2019 this week in Las Vegas.

Phillips also announced this week that effective Jan. 28, 2019, product improvements will be implemented to the STA-DRY Heat Shrink Connector product displays. The company says the display has been updated to include top moving products.

Additionally, the signage has been revised and updated with a similar but new look that falls more in line with the company’s branding guidelines. The display itself was designed for the retail market and is just under 6 ft. tall, taking up 4 sq.-ft. of floor space. It is filled with quality heat shrink terminal and tubing products that make permanent repairs last as long as the wire and stop corrosion.

Phillips says every fleet uses these type of products, and with top moving items from the company’s line of STA-DRY products displayed neatly and readily available at one’s fingertips, there is the potential to generate new customers and repeat revenue.
