Grote Industries hires national fleet sales manager

Grote Industries has hired John May as national fleet sales manager. May will handle sales and customer contacts for Grote Industries’ range of fleet accounts as well as new business opportunities.

May has more than 30 years of maintenance experience in the trucking and VoAg industry, starting in 1984 with Ryder Truck Leasing. Most recently, May was the south east wheel end manager for Stemco Industries, working with fleets, technicians, distributors and trade schools in wheel end maintenance and training.

Prior to that he has spent 22 years as director of maintenance at companies such as Kenan Transport/SPG Division, Stevens Tanker Division, PLM Trailer Leasing and Transport Industries. He brings a wealth of knowledge on the technical and sales side as he is always looking for ways to improve vehicle specifications/safety and CSA Scores, reduce CPM and reduce inventories through parts consolidation/reduction, the company says. May has been trained in Six Sigma and LEAN Process Improvements. He will report to Mark Blackford, director of national fleet sales.
