Prestolite Electric has announced what it says is an “Industry Best” warranty on its premium alternators, including IdlePro and IdlePro Extreme units, that will extend coverage to 3- or 4-year terms and unlimited mileage. The Prestolite Power Promise also includes a more robust offering of coverage concerns, the company says.
Prestolite Electric’s addition of the Prestolite Power Promise to IdlePro and IdlePro Extreme alternators highlights the dramatic quality differences in today’s rotating electrical category, the company says. Each IdlePro and IdlePro Extreme alternator has been carefully engineered and tested to address the harshest use scenarios and extended service required to drive down vehicle downtime due to failure or service incidents.
“We’ve seen remarkable lengths of service life through our IdlePro and IdlePro Extreme units. It’s no secret that component failure equals downtime, reduced profits and increased expense,” says Jonathan Smith, Prestolite assistant director of aftermarket sales and marketing. “Our latest warranty continues our legacy to provide best-in-class programs backed by best-in-class products. By extending our warranty coverage, it’s going to change the game in our industry and is truly indicative of our customer-first approach.”
The Prestolite Power Promise warranty covers manufacturing defects; premature component failure; worn/elongated mounting holes; damage from a loose pulley or nut shaft damage; damaged fan; failure due to excess corrosion, rust, oil, dirt/debris, water and heat; failure from loose terminal connections; solder re-flow; and many additional common warranty concerns.
The Prestolite Power Promise is available with the purchase of qualifying Leece-Neville IdlePro and IdlePro Extreme alternators.
