Truckworx announces change in ownership

Kenworth commercial truck dealer Truckworx has announced, as of Oct. 5, 2021, Will Bruser has acquired Truckworx Holding Company and all related entities from outgoing CEO Bob Mitchell.

A 19-year veteran in the trucking industry, Bruser began his journey at Truckworx in 2004 in truck sales and took over day-to-day operations of the company upon his promotion to President in 2013. With this acquisition, Bruser now serves as President and CEO of the company.

“This is an important step toward the future of the Truckworx family and all the families that are represented within this company,” Bruser says. “I am very proud of the incredible team that we have built and am fully confident in our ability to bring this company into the future.”

Bruser has served the Truckworx team in a variety of capacities, including truck sales, Mobile’s branch manager, vice president of sales and his current roles. Bruser also is the current chairman of the board of the Alabama Trucking Association, a position he assumed in July of 2021.

With his elevation to president in 2013, Bruser implemented a new mission statement: Do what’s right for the right reasons. Since then, the company has continued to expand its number of locations as well as the products and services it offers. Truckworx now operates 16 locations including eight full-service dealerships across the Southeast.

In addition to Kenworth trucks, Truckworx also represents Hino and Isuzu commercial trucks, as well as six heavy-duty trailer manufacturers, allowing Truckworx to provide the solution for all commercial trucking needs.

“My wife Tracy, my family and I could not be happier to carry this family-owned business into the future,” Bruser says. “We are honored to be a part of the Truckworx team and the transportation industry as a whole. We are grateful for everything this industry does for our family and this great country.”

The company added a commercial truck rental and full-service lease division through PacLease in 2019 and became Alabama’s exclusive Blue Bird bus dealer in 2013. Truckworx also acquired a commercial body shop in 2015 and has recently opened three TRP Parts locations and four Truckworx Fleet Solutions locations within the company’s existing footprint. With the goal of serving customers better, Truckworx has also added other product lines that align with the company’s current customer base such as Yeti products, Tom Beckbe apparel and luggage, MB Ranch King deer blinds and feeders and Pitmaker grills and smokers.
