The mergers and acquisitions space recorded one of the slowest months in the history of our M&A report in April. Two aftermarket operations expanded with key acquisitions but the dealer and supplier channels were silent.
The slowdown was a return to normal conditions after a busy March, which saw an uptick in activity over January and February.
Custom Truck One Source was the first business to grow, acquiring A&D Maintenance and Repair in Wyandanch, N.Y., a service business in operation since 1986. "We are excited to join forces with the A&D Maintenance and Repair team and welcome them to Custom Truck One Source," said Ryan McMonagle, CEO of Custom Truck. "A&D Maintenance is a family owned and operated business and we saw an immediate cultural fit. The Fliegels have built a fantastic business over the past 30 years and we look forward to building on their legacy."
Following near the end of the month was Colorado Brake & Supply, headquartered in Commerce City, Colo., which acquired Pueblo Brake & Clutch Inc. Both businesses are HDA Truck Pride members. "Our decision to acquire Pueblo Brake & Clutch was driven by their outstanding reputation for excellence and their impressive 59 years of dedicated service to the Pueblo community," said Dave Ford, general manager of Colorado Brake & Supply. "We are excited to integrate their expertise into our operations and further enhance our ability to meet the diverse needs of our customers."
