M&K Truck Centers has acquired General Truck Sales and its locations — two in Indiana and one in Ohio.

The acquisition was finalized on Aug. 29 and announced Tuesday. Performance Brokerage Services supported General Truck Sales CEO Steve Bassett in the transaction.

With this acquisition, M&K expands its footprint to 33 locations across seven states, marking a significant milestone for the company. Effective immediately, M&K will offer Mack, Volvo, East, Fruehauf, Vanguard, Hino, and Isuzu products, along with full support services at the new locations in Toledo, Ohio; Pendleton, Ind.; and Muncie, Ind.

Additionally, M&K Truck Centers has retained nearly all employees from General Truck Sales, welcoming over 100 talented individuals into the M&K family. And because M&K Truck Centers operates as an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) company, it is excited to offer new employees an opportunity to invest in their future by gaining a share in the company’s proven success and growth.

“This expansion allows us to increase our capabilities and strengthen our presence in the Midwest region. We remain committed to meeting our customers’ needs and providing exceptional service throughout this transition and for many years to come,” says Josh Wolf, M&K’s COO.

The company adds it looks forward to an exciting fourth quarter of 2025 as it works together to integrate these operations. By incorporating the operations from Muncie, Pendleton and Toledo, M&K states it will enhance its offerings in new and used truck sales, trailer sales, parts, service, rentals and leasing.

General Truck Sales is a family-owned business founded in 1958. The business sells, leases, repairs, and services new and used light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks. General Truck Sales is an authorized Volvo, Mack, Hino, and Isuzu dealer and was recognized four times by Volvo Trucks as North American Dealer of the Year.

“After 67 years in business and 34 years of ownership under my guidance, I have chosen to retire. Selling my business was one of the biggest decisions I’ve ever made, and I couldn’t have asked for a better partner throughout the process,” says Bassett. “From day one, Dan Argiro and the team at Performance Brokerage Services provided expert guidance, clear communication, and a level of professionalism that gave me total confidence. They worked closely with me and my team, understanding the value of what I’d built, and they worked hard to connect me with the right buyer.

Argiro adds, “We’re proud to have successfully facilitated the sale of General Truck Sales to M&K Truck Centers. It was an honor to have been chosen by Steve Bassett to represent him during this process. Connecting Steve with industry leader Ron Meyering and M&K Truck Centers ensures that the legacy Steve has built will continue for many decades. This transaction reflects the value of careful planning, strategic marketing, and alignment of vision between both parties. It’s always rewarding to see a business transition smoothly into capable hands, and we’re honored to have played a role in that journey.”
