September saw a slight uptick in transactions in the dealer, aftermarket and supplier segments over August but its clear the industry remains below historical pace.
Dealers and vendors continue to drive most moves as aftermarket transactions have slowed to a crawl.
The first announced acquisition this month was M&K Truck Centers acquiring General Truck Sales and its three locations, expanding the M&K network in the Midwest. “This expansion allows us to increase our capabilities and strengthen our presence in the Midwest region. We remain committed to meeting our customers’ needs and providing exceptional service throughout this transition and for many years to come,” said Josh Wolf, M&K’s COO.
Next was Amerit Fleet Solutions, which on Sept. 11 acquired Derotic Emergency Equipment, a government vehicle upfitter in California. “We are excited to welcome Derotic Emergency Equipment into the Vector and Amerit family,” said Aubrey Felton, EVP of Amerit parent company Vector. “Derotic's outstanding reputation, specialized skills and commitment to quality align perfectly with our mission to keep government fleets safe, efficient and mission-ready.”
Following was Aetna Truck Parts, which acquired Douglas Truck Parts on Sept. 14. "This is more than a business transaction — it's a joining of values," said Gai Walny, vice president of Aetna Truck Parts, an HDA Truck Pride member. "Both companies were built on a foundation of trust, reliability and technical know-how. Together, we're not only preserving that legacy but expanding it to serve a broader customer base with unmatched decades of expertise."
