Four Star Freightliner is growing. The company announced Wednesday its acquisition of Western Star of Dothan.
With this acquisition, Four Star expands its Western Star truck sales footprint to six of its eight locations. The company now offers Western Star trucks at a majority of its dealerships while continuing to provide full service and repair for Western Star vehicles at all eight locations across Alabama, Georgia and Florida.
Western Star of Dothan had been located at 426 Merrill Road in Dothan, Ala., and had served the Wiregrass region for decades, operating as both a Detroit Diesel and Cummins engine dealer. The acquisition strengthens Four Star Freightliner’s presence in the Southeast and reinforces its commitment to supporting customers with dependable truck sales and service, the company says.
This is the second dealership acquisition in the Southeast this week after Rush Enterprises announced its purchase of Peterbilt of Louisiana on Tuesday.

According to RigDig (owned by Fusable, parent company of TPS), there are 2,879 prospects operating more than 8,170 verified vehicles and 6,365 verified trailers within a 50-mile radius of location.
As part of the transition, Four Star Freightliner will welcome employees from Western Star of Dothan to its Dothan location at 1507 Reeves Street.
