Alliant Power has acquired Family Machine LLC's Denver operation.
Alliant Power says the acquisition adds machining expertise, specialized equipment and technical capabilities to Capital Reman Exchange, strengthening Alliant Power's ability to deliver complete diesel solutions with the speed, quality and reliability customers expect.
Family Machine has deep roots in engine machining dating to 1968. The business has continued across generations, with Inessa Marini representing the third generation, and her son carrying the family trade into its fourth generation.
Family Machine brings decades of hands-on experience across engine blocks, cylinder heads, crankshafts, camshafts, fuel systems and other critical machining processes. Its people, equipment and expertise will complement Capital Reman Exchange's established operations and support its remanufactured long block program.

“This acquisition is about serving our customers better and faster. Family Machine brings talented people, generations of machining expertise and specialized capabilities that strengthen Capital Reman Exchange and Alliant Power. Together, we are increasing capacity and technical depth while improving our ability to deliver the quality, reliability and responsiveness our customers count on,” says Houman Kashanipour, CEO of Alliant Power.
The relationship between Family Machine and Capital Reman Exchange spans more than 12 years. During that time, the businesses have supported one another as vendors, customers, industry peers and technical resources. Bringing the teams together builds on that trusted history and creates a stronger, more responsive remanufacturing operation, the companies say.
“Built on my grandfather's 1968 foundation of precision and pride, we are thrilled to join the Alliant Power family. Beginning this next chapter alongside our longtime friends at Capital Reman Exchange makes the opportunity for continued growth even more meaningful,” says Marini.
Alliant Power states the acquisition combines Family Machine's machining knowledge; Capital Reman Exchange's remanufacturing capabilities and Alliant Power's diesel component portfolio and distribution network. Together, these strengths expand the resources supporting the long block remanufacturing process and deepen Alliant Power's ability to support customers across the diesel lifecycle, from critical engine components to remanufactured long blocks, the company states.
The acquisition also brings together two legacies rooted in the diesel industry. As Alliant Power celebrates its 65th anniversary in 2026, Family Machine adds its own multigenerational history of precision, craftsmanship and lasting customer relationships.
“Family Machine and Capital Reman Exchange have worked together in nearly every way over the past 12 years, as vendors, customers, industry peers and resources for one another. Joining forces always felt natural. Today, we are gaining a trusted partner and nearly 60 years of machining knowledge that will be invaluable as we continue building the Alliant Power story,” adds Brian Byrne, Capital Reman Exchange.
