The Shyft Group, headquartered in Novi, Michigan, released a 2024 sustainability report, Focusing Foward, Sustainably on Wednesday.
Shyft Group, a specialty vehicle manufacture, assembly and upfit for commercial, retail and service specialty vehicles, outlines its strategic efforts in reducing emissions, improving workplace safety and advancing belonging and inclusion.

"We take great pride in the progress outlined in our 2024 sustainability report. Our efforts reflect a comprehensive approach to sustainability that touches every facet of our operations — including environmental considerations, the safety of our workforce and our commitment to social responsibility," says Josh Sherbin, chief legal, administrative and compliance officer. "These milestones reflect our team's commitment to sustainable growth, and we look forward to accelerating these initiatives in the years ahead."
Highlights of the report include:
- A 15% reduction of Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions, year-over-year.
- A 40% reduction in Shyft's total recordable incident rate and a 75% reduction in its lost time case incident rate.
- The company's first physical climate risk assessment.
- A donation of $100,000 through the Shyft For Good program to nonprofit organizations focused on health, education and the environment.
Shyft, which had sales of $872 million in 2023, has around 3,000 employees at campuses in Arizona, California, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas and Mexico.
