TRALA meeting notches record attendance

The Truck Renting and Leasing Association (TRALA) opened its 2017 Annual Meeting Monday with a record setting approximately 450 attendees at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa in Bonita Springs, Florida.

TRALA’s Government Relations and Security Committees and the Equipment and Technology Advisory Council (ETAC) all saw packed rooms for their meetings.

“This year’s attendance set an all-time record for a TRALA Annual Meeting,” says TRALA CEO Jake Jacoby. “It was terrific to see so many old friends and many new faces that are all working together in such a growing and vibrant industry.”

TRALA discussed a number of critical federal and state issues impacting the truck renting and leasing industry during its Government Relations Committee meeting. The topics featured TRALA’s recent ELD Petition that was published in the Federal Register two weeks ago, federal tax reform, the meal and rest break issue, as well as several state bills that TRALA is currently working on in support of the truck renting and leasing industry.

The ETAC meeting featured presentations by representatives from Volvo Group Trucks, Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems, PLM Trailer Leasing and Mack Trucks. Issues focused on were the latest on the GHG Phase II rule, a Food Modernization Act update, and a discussion on how equipment improvements are helping to address the driver shortage problem.
