Cargo theft tracking system enhanced

Updated Oct 17, 2017

Cargo theft tracking and reporting firm CargoNet announced Monday it has upgraded its system to provide a new online tool, dubbed RouteSearch, to detect risk of cargo theft incident by carriers’ and drivers’ routes.

CargoNet member companies can custom build routes within the portal to see the theft risk, which is based on CargoNet’s historical data set. Users can adjust the radius and date range of the theft data and access detailed loss information. They can also filter by commodity and identify high-risk truck stops, the company says, as well as zoom into street level view or switch to satellite view.

The launch of RouteSearch highlights our commitment to supporting our members in their efforts to avoid cargo theft through information sharing, cargo theft trends, and analytics,” says CargoNet General Manager Anthony Canale.
