Stoops Freightliner-Quality Trailer announced Wednesday it has acquired Mid American Trailer Repair, 4984 E. 400 Street, in Lafayette, Ind. Effective immediately, the business will be known as Stoops Freightliner-Quality Trailer. All Mid American employees have been retained and are now Stoops employees.
Stoops Freightliner-Quality Trailer says the move merges a pair of family-owned businesses. The Thompson family has operated Mid American Trailer for more than two decades, while Stoops’ parent company, the McCoy Group, traces its roots back to 1958.
“We are excited to welcome Mid American Trailer and its employees to the Stoops team,” says Brian McCoy, Stoops Freightliner-Quality Trailer president. “For over 20 years, Mid American Trailer has provided invaluable service to the Lafayette area. We look forward to continuing this tradition in the years ahead.”
With the acquisition, Stoops doubles its presence in the Lafayette community. Stoops Freightliner-Quality Trailer operates a location at 120 Farabee Dr. South for truck and parts sales, as well as truck service work.
