JX Truck Center employee receives Patriot Award

20190406 093210 1 300x169JX Truck Center’s John Miller, fleet maintenance manager, has received the Patriot Award from the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserves (ESGR) at JX Truck Center — Waukesha, Wis.

The Patriot award is granted to individuals that support active military personnel in their professional civilian career. The award was presented to Miller by Dave Firth, Waukesha technician, who nominated Miller for the award.

“What we do on a daily basis can’t compare to the commitment, dedication and sacrifice from our military men and women,” says Miller. “I have always taken notice of applicants that are current or former military as I feel they have strong baseline values that help them excel in civilian life.”

Firth was an Army veteran when he started with JX in 2017. About 15 months ago he decided to enlist in the Army Reserves to continue his military career, all while maintaining a positive record as a JX employee. Firth also was recently selected by Greg Torosian, JX service director, and Miller to attend the Peterbilt Technician Institute program at Universal Technical Institute.

Firth was inspired to nominate Miller due to the support that he has received from Miller and JX while continuing his military career.
