Paccar, parent company of Peterbilt and Kenworth, has named Preston Feight as its new chief executive officer.

Effective July 1, Feight will replace Ron Armstrong, who’s retiring June 30 and who has served as Paccar CEO since April 2014. Feight also has been elected as a member of the board of directors.

He’s currently the executive vice president of Paccar. Mark Pigott will serve as executive chairman and will continue to provide strategic counsel to the company.

“Preston Feight is an outstanding leader who has made significant contributions to Paccar’s excellent record of profitable growth and its industry-leading products and services,” says Pigott. “I congratulate Preston on his promotion to chief executive officer and welcome him to the board. On behalf of the Board and all Paccar employees, I would like to thank Ron Armstrong for his five excellent years of outstanding leadership and strategic vision as Paccar’s chief executive officer.”

Feight, 51, has been with Paccar for 21 years, including tenures as president of DAF Trucks and vice president and general manager of Kenworth. He also held other roles at Kenworth, including chief engineer and assistant general manager of sales and marketing.
