Kriete Truck Centers invests $6 Million in expansion

Kriete Truck CenterMack Trucks dealer Kriete Truck Centers has invested $6 million in a new building at its Racine, Wis., location, doubling the amount of service bays at the facility. The Mack Certified Uptime Dealer location will also add a mezzanine in October to double its parts warehouse capacity, the company says.

“Kriete Truck Centers is an outstanding example of how Mack dealers continue to invest in the brand,” says Jonathan Randall, Mack Trucks senior vice president, North American sales and marketing. “The new expansion enables Kriete Truck Centers to better serve their customers, providing the high level of support truck owners come to expect from a Mack dealer and a Mack Certified Uptime Dealer.”

The Racine facility, opened in 2005, offers $2 million in parts inventory and consists of two buildings, one of which is the new 25,000 sq.-ft. expansion, designed to extend Kriete’s management of concrete pump service and support in working with Putzmeister, a global leader in concrete, underground, mortar and industrial technologies. The North American headquarters for Putzmeister America is located nearby in Sturtevant, Wis.

Kriete’s new building enables the dealer to expand retail service and body shop business to include collision repair and body painting, doubling its previous capacity. The new paint booth measures 85 ft. long, 22 ft. wide and is 22 ft. high for handling the massive size of concrete pump equipment, such as the Mack TerraPro or Granite models equipped with Putzmeister concrete pump bodies. The facility has 15 bays, and Kriete plans to add 40 service technicians to manage the increased workload.

“It’s one of Kriete Truck Centers’ core missions to be the very best steward of the Mack Trucks brand,” says David Kriete, president and CEO, Kriete Truck Centers. “This expansion provides a state-of-the-art facility to better serve Kriete and Mack network customers and to keep them on the road and help their businesses remain successful.”

As a Mack Certified Uptime Dealer, the Racine location has met stringent requirements to amplify customer service and uptime, the company says. Redesigned service bays along with standardized workflows and processes at Mack Certified Uptime Dealers permit quicker repairs and improved customer service. “Uptime bays” reserved specifically for trucks requiring less than four hours of work for service and repairs enable the rapid diagnosis and repair of vehicles, increasing dealership efficiency and improving customer ROI, the company says.

Results show that at the 145 Mack Certified Uptime Dealers, shop efficiency increased by 24 percent, check-in time was reduced by more than 40 minutes and diagnostic times decreased by 70 percent, Mack says.
