Recall report: Crane trucks, electric buses recalled

The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):

  • Lion Electric Company is recalling certain 2018-2020 Lion C electric school buses. During a sudden braking and change of direction combination, a decrease in the hydraulic system pressure can occur, causing a loss of power steering and power braking. The loss of power steering and power braking increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says potentially 37 vehicles are affected by this recall.
  • Reading Truck Body is recalling certain 2017-2018 Master Mechanic Series Crane Truck Bodies. The crane solenoid may overheat and cause the crane to lose function. If left unattended, the overheated solenoid can increase the risk of a fire. The loss of power steering and power braking increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says potentially 189 vehicles are affected by this recall.
