West Michigan International donates $12,000 to food supply charities

Charities served by West Michigan InternationalDuring the month of August, West Michigan International/K&R Truck Sales and Idealease of West Michigan promoted a parts sales campaign to raise money for Feeding America West Michigan and VOX United.

The companies donated 10 percent of their profits to these two organizations. Together, the annual campaign raised $12,021 for a total donation. Feeding America West Michigan and VOX United each received $6,010.50.

“It is times like these where it is especially important to contribute to organizations that are offering support to those in need. We feel that it is an obligation for our dealerships to support our local charities and we are grateful to be able to have a share in giving back,” says Ed Rietman, dealer principal, West Michigan International/ K&R Truck Sales and Idealease of West Michigan. “We want to thank our customers, employees and supplier partners that support this annual charity campaign.”

During the special parts campaign, many West Michigan International customers, suppliers, and employees get involved to help raise money for the selected charities. Each year there are a different group of local charities selected. This year the company says there were eight suppliers that had a share in the campaign: Bendix, Cummins Filtration, Delco, Ezoil, Hendrickson, International, Meritor and Shell.

The outpouring of support from West Michigan and K&R has been fantastic; we could not do the important work we do without everyone’s help,” says Susie Dutcher, development manager, Feeding America West Michigan.
