Mitchell 1 to assume role in technician skills competitions

Mitchell 1, a Snap-on Company, and their Tractor-Trailer.net service and repair information system will play a role in three upcoming 2008 state technician skills competitions. Representatives from Mitchell 1 will administer the service information skills competition station at the Arkansas, Tennessee and South Carolina state contests.

Mitchell 1 is counted among the original participants when the Technology and Maintenance Council of the American Trucking Associations first organized their National Technician Skills Competition. During the national and state competitions, Tractor-Trailer.net is used to test a technician’s ability to diagnose and choose the proper corrective action to fix a variety of service related problems on a broad range of vehicles. Using Tractor-Trailer.net also tests a technician’s working knowledge of electronic service manuals, which are rapidly becoming the preferred format in many maintenance facilities nationwide, says the company.

Tractor-Trailer.net, a web-based platform, is a fast and complete heavy-duty tractor-trailer repair solution, says the company. It includes detailed procedural information, color photos, diagnostics and wiring diagrams for almost every truck built over the last decade and a half. Information is updated monthly and is available to subscribers 24/7.
