CDX Automotive, a division of Jones & Bartlett Learning, announced it has entered into a partnership with MAVCC, a multi-state curriculum consortium, to develop and release a teaching and learning system for medium- and heavy-truck technicians.
The new educational program, the first in an expected series of collaborations between the two companies, is designed to meet the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) program certification standards and is based on MAVCC’s Diesel Technology Series. The teaching and learning system will include online modules, student guides, student workbooks, and teacher edition CD-ROMs.
“This partnership represents our complete commitment to automotive training and education. Using the award winning CDX “Know, See, Do Prove” instructional model, our goal is to provide the most relevant automotive education in the marketplace,” says Tim Spurlock, CDX vice president of business development. “With CDX, we know we have a system that works, and our partnership with MAVCC expands our combined reach dramatically. If it has an engine and wheels, we want to be the training partner of choice.”
CDX is now building the online modules using the successful Know-See-Do-Prove instructional model, which improves instructional effectiveness, student engagement, and learning outcomes. The online delivery model allows for immediate deployment of updated content.
The complete teaching and learning system, including the online modules, will be released in phases, beginning in the summer of 2010. Effective immediately, CDX will sell the MAVCC Diesel Technology Series through the Jones & Bartlett Learning website (www.jblearning.com).
“We are pleased to be working with CDX and believe our combined resources and expertise will provide a dynamic learning system that helps prepare students for success as heavy vehicle truck technicians,” says Jane Huston, MAVCC Executive Director.
