ISS expanding into HD market

Instrument Sales and Service, Inc. (ISS), a remanufacturer of automotive electronics in North America, says it is expanding into the Off Highway, Heavy Duty Truck, and Fleet markets.

“ISS offers an extensive portfolio of remanufacturing capabilities for Off Highway and Heavy Duty Truck electromechanical components, including Instrumentation, Displays, Navigation, Electronic Control Modules, HVAC Controls, Driver Interface Switchgear, Radios and Vehicle Sensors,” says Dave Lisle, President and CEO of ISS. “For OEM’s and Tier-1 suppliers, this provides an additional past model service solution for Warranty, Service and Aftermarket customers, as well as providing significant commercial savings and OE-service parts pain management.”

In cooperation with the OEM and/or Tier-1 Supplier(s), the Engineering staff at ISS are able to identify component failure modes, develop test procedures and manage an end-to-end ISO:T/S 16949:2009 certified remanufacturing program.  One of the primary goals with the remanufacturing process at ISS is to design and implement a past model parts service program so that it blends as seamlessly as possible with an existing OEM program, ISS says.

“While OEM’s can count on increased profitability and the highest quality when partnering with ISS, there are product lifecycle and environmental benefits, as well,” says Lawrance Griffiths, Senior Director of Business Development for ISS.  “While extending the useful product life and avoiding premature disposal of original OEM components, ISS also efficiently diverts 80 percent of their plastics and by-products from the remanufacturing process away from landfills and directly into recycling facilities.  That translates to over 112,000 pounds of recycled material annually. Therefore, developing a remanufacturing strategy in partnership with ISS is not only good for the balance sheet, it’s good for the environment.”
