Uniroyal announced Thursday it has added two new key sizes to its recently launched commercial truck tire line.
The tires are the Uniroyal RS20, a SmartWay-verified regional all-position tire, now available in a 255/70R22.5 size for regional pick-up and delivery vehicles and trailers, and the Uniroyal HS50, now available in a 425/65R22.5 size for on- and off-road dump trucks and concrete mixers.
“Uniroyal is expanding its line of commercial truck tires to meet the needs of two important customer segments: regional pick-up and delivery and construction,” says Darlene Shepherd, business segment manager, Uniroyal Commercial Truck Tires. “These additions bring affordable and dependable solutions for the small fleets and owner-operators we serve.”
The two new sizes add to the Uniroyal tire portfolio, launched in January 2016, which now consists of six tread designs with 28 total sizes. The Uniroyal line provides an affordable offer for every commercial truck tire position and application from long-haul to regional to on-/off- road, including dry van, flat bed, construction, and pick-up and delivery vocations, the company says.
And Uniroyal says DuraShield construction, at the heart of every Uniroyal tire, provides for durability, dependability and retreadability. Three strategic features —pyramidal steel belts, insulating belt edge strips and a heavy gauge inner liner — work together to reduce stress, promote endurance and protect the tire’s casing, the company says.
Uniroyal commercial truck tires are backed by a four-year manufacturer’s limited warranty. Certain tires used in long-haul and regional applications are also covered by a one-retread limited warranty, the company says.
