The program will commence in August 2019 and will be housed inside Four Star Freightliner’s Gadsden County facility located at 270 Four Star Way, Midway, Fla.

GTI will offer workforce training in Diesel Systems Technician 2: Medium and Heavy Duty Truck and Bus Technician. The program offers a sequence of courses that provides technical skill proficiency and includes competency-based applied learning. Additionally, Four Star Freightliner says it will augment the training with classroom computer-based instruction through the Daimler Get Ahead program and hands-on instruction in the diesel engine maintenance and repair bays at their facility.

“There is great value in industry, education, and government working together to give students on-site, hands-on experience during their training,” says Jerry Kocan, Four Star Freightliner dealer principal. “There is a tremendous need for diesel technicians and opportunity for young people in Gadsden County.”

Four Star says interested students should visit www.gadsdentech.org. The enrollment application can be found under the “Future Student” link in the “Related Documents” box. A direct link to the application also can be found HERE.
