Phillips & Temro Industries has published a white paper designed to provide solutions for prevention of diesel fuel gelling.

This white paper, “The Cold, Hard Facts on Diesel Fuel Gelling,” offers benefits and rationale for implementing fuel warming products. The white paper provides an outline of issues related to fuel gelling and how diesel fuel warmers, in-tank fuel warming, in-line fuel warming and electric in-line heaters can mitigate those issues.

Diesel fuel contains paraffin wax, which improves fuel viscosity and lubrication. When temperatures drop, the wax will crystallize and the fuel will become clouded. Additional decreases in temperature will gel the fuel causing clogged fuel lines, filters and engine stall outs, the company says.

Phillips & Temro says its Arctic Fox brand of products, which include a complete line of fuel and fluid heaters, deliver best-case solutions to cold weather operation for dependable engine starts.
