Universal Technical Institute opened a new campus in Smyrna, in the Atlanta area. It's the company's first campus in Georgia.

"Georgia is projected to have more than 10,000 annual job openings across the skilled trades taught at our newest campus, underscoring the critical need for highly trained, job-ready professionals to support the state's growing economy," says Todd Hitchcock, executive vice president of strategy, growth and operations at UTI. "We look forward to working with leaders across the Atlanta region to connect them with skilled-collar workers who will be prepared to immediately make an impact in their chosen fields."

The Atlanta campus is a 150,000-square-foot facility that will serve 1,500 students at scale and will train automotive, diesel, aviation, electrical, robotics and automation, HVACR and welding.

"From the beginning, we've felt incredibly welcomed by the Smyrna and greater Atlanta community," says Tod Gibbs, campus president of UTI-Atlanta. "We look forward to being a strong partner here, preparing students with practical skills while supporting the employers and industries that help drive this region forward."

Next year, UTI says it will open another campus — Concorde Career College-Atlanta — in the Atlanta area that will focus on health care and dental training programs.
