More about our Distributor of the Year award

Truck, Parts, Service is proud to recognize the best of the independent aftermarket with our annual Distributor of the Year award, sponsored by Minimizer, Meritor, Interstate Billing, Karmak and the Commercial Vehicle Solutions Network (CVSN).

Now in its 19th year, the Distributor of the Year award was introduced in 2002 by Trucks, Parts, Service Founder Jim Moss to recognize the most innovative and respected distributors in the North American independent aftermarket. Moss believed in the importance and necessity of the independent aftermarket and felt those thriving in the market deserved recognition for their positive impact on the trucking industry and the North American economy at large.

All independent aftermarket operations in the United States and Canada (except the prior year’s winner) are eligible for the 2019 Distributor of the Year award. Nominations for the award are accepted on this website from April through June. And nominating a distributor for our award is easy. We accept nominations from anyone active in the trucking industry.

All we ask for on our NOMINATION FORM is your name, your employer, the name of the company you’d like to nominate and why you believe they are deserving. That’s it. It takes less than 30 seconds. We also allow you to nominate up to three distributors at any given time.

Why? That’s an easy question to answer.  We want the Trucks, Parts, Service Distributor of the Year award to honor all worthy distributors and believe the best way to uncover who those distributors are is by enabling everyone to speak up.

The five distribution businesses who receive the most nominations from the trucking industry during our open submission process this spring will be named our 2019 award finalists. Since introducing our program in 2002, TPS has recognized 44 aftermarket distributors as finalists in our Distributor of the Year program.

Our 2019 Distributor of the Year winner will be chosen by a select panel of industry veterans and TPS’s editorial staff. Nominees will be evaluated on a variety of factors, including customer service, industry involvement, relationships with suppliers, product knowledge, growth/expansion success, technology adaptation and business innovations.

Each finalist also will be featured on this website during the fall leading up to the award presentation in January 2021 at the virtual Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week.

Thank you for your interest in the Trucks, Parts, Service Distributor of the Year award. Please do not hesitate to contact us with questions regarding our program.
