Optronics rolls out three new trailer lights

Optronics International released Tuesday three new marker/clearance lights for trailers.

The MCL2300, MCL20 and MCL16T will allow trailer OEMs to create a signature, branded look for their vehicles and provide broad customization options for owner-operators, the company says.

These lights are geometrically shaped, Optronics says, giving customers the choice between round, oval and rectangular lights. These lights also offer an increased light size while fitting into a standard 3/4-inch hole. They can be used as combination side marker and front or rear clearance lights when mounted on an angle, Optronics says.

"The MCL Series marker/clearance lights we're launching today are a testament to our commitment to innovation and to meeting industry needs and desires," says Dustin Smith, Optronics vice president of sales. "We are continuing to set the pace, providing diverse shapes and sizes to differentiate and elevate our customers' vehicles, all while keeping the installation process uncomplicated."

The MCL2300 lamp measures 2.31 inches wide, 1.43 inches tall and 0.64 inches thick. It holds three-diodes. The MCL20 is an oval, three-diode marker/clearance light that measures 1.875 inches wide, 1.5 inches tall and half an inch thick. The MCL16T has a single diode and is a 1.25-inch round light with a 1.31-inch profile and a unique fluted lens pattern. All three lamps come hard-wired and are available in bulk and polypack packaging.

"The lights are versatile and easily installed without any need for retooling, maintaining the same manufacturing process that our OEMs are accustomed to," says Michael Whiteman, director of production management for Optronics. "Despite the different shapes, they still fit into the 3/4-inch cutout hole that's become the industry norm, offering an effortless original equipment upgrade or an aftermarket replacement option."
