Hunter introduces bench lathe for shops

Hunter's rolling lathe cart

Hunter Engineering has released a new mobile bench version of its popular BL Series Bench Lathe, allowing technicians to easily move the lathe around the shop for greater convenience.

Continuing the sturdy steel construction of the BL Series, Hunter says the BL Mobile Bench with Chip Funnel offers a number of attractive benefits. Large, locking casters provide for quick relocation, while a push handle offers an easy grab point.

Three large heavy-duty drawers with rubber floor liners allow ample space for weighty adaptors. The unit is compatible with Hunter’s dust collection system and includes onboard storage of documents and a chip bucket, the company says. An integrated cord wrap conveniently holds the power cord. The carefully balanced design makes it extremely difficult to tip the lathe over, the company adds.

“Not only will the mobility make the lathe more convenient to use, but easier to clean under and behind it,” says Greg Meyer, Hunter product manager for brake lathes. “Keeping the adaptors safely stored in the drawers also keeps them away from dust.”

Hunter’s BL Series Bench Lathe is a combination bench lathe that brings speed, precision and versatility to brake service. The company says the unique design allows the operator to change the setup of the brake lathe from rotors to drums and vice-versa with unprecedented speed and ease.
