LithiumHub announced a new IONIC lithium starter battery on Thursday.
The IC 12V100-S4S battery is specifically designed for heavy-duty diesel equipment, including trucks. It has 3,000A cranking amps, an emergency start/reserve function, built-in heather system and Bluetooth monitoring. LithiumHub says the battery is also lighter, weighing in at 30.8 pounds, about 50% lighter than lead-acid batteries.
"This is certainly a game-changer for the industry, especially for large diesel engines using lithium starter batteries," says Martin Koebler, founder of LithiumHub. "The cranking amps are in unheard-of territory, and features such as turning the battery on or of with a simple long press directly on the battery or through your phone app bring a new level of convenience and reliability to the table."
The battery has a five-year warranty and is expected to last up to 10 years.
