BendPak has unleashed its new OctaFlex Series, turning its revolutionary eight-arm vehicle lift concept into reality.
This next-generation two-post lift dramatically improves bay productivity, technician ergonomics and operational precision. OctaFlex makes cab-off repairs, EV battery replacement and other demanding tasks much more efficient and BendPak says its OctaFlex 12DPS two-post lift is now shipping.
Since introducing the OctaFlex concept in 2024, BendPak has spent the last two years refining it based on customer feedback and lab testing. The new OctaFlex 12DPS delivers all the functionality of a traditional 12,000-lb. capacity two-post lift paired with a first-of-its-kind integrated 6,000-lb. capacity lift-assist system.
“As dealers and independent repair shops continue to struggle with an aging and shrinking technician workforce, they also face surging demand for labor-intensive tasks,” says Jeff Kritzer, BendPak president and CEO. “OctaFlex eases the pressure by helping technicians handle complex jobs independently with greater efficiency and less physical strain, maximizing throughput and profit potential.”
While the four primary arms support the vehicle, BendPak states the OctaFlex four secondary arms raise, lower or simply hold cabs, drivetrains, EV batteries, suspension assemblies and other heavy components without the need for additional equipment, helpers or bays. When they’re not required, BendPak adds the auxiliary arms can be moved up out of the way, so the lift can be used as a standard two-post model.
Also unique to the patent-pending OctaFlex Series is a magnetic pendant controller with industry-first two-speed controls. The company says this pendant controller lets technicians stand back from the lift columns for enhanced visibility around the vehicle. Each set of arms can be operated independently at either “normal” or new “slow” speed — ideal for the fine alignment and controlled positioning required to single-handedly remove and realign cabs and chassis.
Dave’s Auto Center in Centerville, Utah, services trucks from all over the United States, performing multiple cab-offs every day across its 25 bays. After installing an OctaFlex lift in the shop, owner Dave Bell says it saves hours in production.
“OctaFlex is a gamechanger if you’re pulling cabs off trucks,” he says. “Not only does it make the cab-off process easier, but since you can raise the chassis while the cab is in the air, you can do brake work, suspension work, change the oil – a lot of the extra jobs customers want done while their truck is in the shop – while you’re waiting for parts. It’s significantly more efficient than finishing the cab-off first and then completing the remaining work after the truck is back together.”
