SelecTrucks introduces veterans discount program

SelecTrucks and Daimler Truck Remarketing (DTR) announced on Veterans Day they are honoring veterans and military personnel by donating $4,000 to the Gary Sinise Foundation from the Proud to Serve program.

Through the SelecTrucks’ Proud to Serve program, Daimler also announces former service members can receive a $5,500 discount towards qualifying purchases that can be used as a down-payment or to reduce the costs of vehicle ownership.

The Gary Sinise Foundation supports our nation's defenders, veterans, first responders, and their families by creating unique programs designed to educate, inspire and strengthen their communities. Devastated by the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001, Gary Sinise began devoting his time and resources to honor those serving, eventually establishing the Gary Sinise Foundation in 2011. Today, the foundation provides services such as adapting homes for severely wounded heroes, serving meals to veterans in need and putting on benefit concerts and events for military personnel and their families.

“We want to ensure all veterans feel supported as they begin or continue a career in trucking. These individuals have honorably served their country, and now continue to be integral in keeping the world moving as professional drivers,” says T.J. Reed, president and general manager of Daimler Trucks Remarketing. “SelecTrucks is proud to support the Gary Sinise Foundation as a way of expressing our appreciation to all those who serve.”

Donation proceeds were collected from Nov. 1, 2021 to Oct. 31, 2022. Employees of SelecTrucks and its 41 centers continue to volunteer for military charities across North America to support and honor those who serve, DTNA says.
