Fontaine Modification has moved into its new state-of-the-art corporate headquarters at 8810 Old Dowd Rd in Charlotte.

Growing customer demand led Fontaine to build a facility that doubles its production and product development capabilities, the company says, as the 145,000-sq.-ft., facility is nearly three times the size of its previous location.

Fontaine Modification has been headquartered in Charlotte since 1991 and has 10 modification centers strategically located near OEM plants across the United States.

Fontaine’s new building includes corporate offices, its new product development technical center, and a full modification center that serves the Freightliner Mt. Holly production plant. More than 75 people work in the location, the company says.

“The commercial vehicle industry is in a period of rapid technological change,” says Jamil Young, Fontaine Modification president. “Demand for our traditional design, engineering and production services for vocational and on-highway trucks is growing at the same time we are being asked to provide the engineering support and path to market for a wide range of new commercial vehicle technologies, including zero-emissions vehicles. Our new headquarters has the space we need to meet our customers’ needs more efficiently.”

Fontaine Modification says the new facility will continue to grow in stages. Future development plans include a video production studio and a customer pilot review center, the company adds.
