STEMCO expands kingpin, bushing production at Michigan facility

Stemco Team E1 V2

STEMCO has completed a significant investment in its Millington, Mich., manufacturing facility.

STEMCO says the project adds approximately 20,000 sq.-ft., of operational space to increase capacity and support future growth and strengthens the facility’s ability to manufacture STEMCO Kaiser king pins and bushings — products that have served the commercial vehicle industry for decades.

“This expansion represents an investment in our people, our operations and our ability to support our customers well into the future,” said Kimberly Byers, director of the Millington facility. “We’re proud of the collaboration that made this project possible, and we’re excited about the opportunities it creates for our team, our community, and the continued growth of our Michigan facility.”

The Kaiser product line was acquired by STEMCO in February 2008. Since then, STEMCO has continued to invest in the operation through multiple facility expansions and improvements. The company says thislatest project represents another step in the company’s long-term commitment to manufacturing and operational growth in Michigan.

“Our success is built on the experience and commitment of our employees,” adds Byers. “Many of our team members have spent significant portions of their careers here, and we’re proud to be a workplace where people choose to build long-term careers.”

The facility reflects STEMCO’s culture of safety, excellence and innovation, values that have guided the company throughout its 75-year history. STEMCO recently celebrated completion of the expansion project with employees, community members, construction partners and business leaders during a ribbon-cutting event.
