RevHD was awarded two U.S. patents for its Flex Seal wheel seal technology, the company announced Tuesday. The patents protect the technology in the Rev Max and Rev 1 wheel seals.
"There's no shortage of companies that make wheel seals," says inventor and RevHD founder Brian Beathard. "Our focus has always been on making a better one. We asked a simple question: How can we make installation easier for technicians while still building a seal that performs better in the field and helps reduce common installation errors? That's what led to the Flex Seal design, and that's what this patent protects."

RevHD says its design addresses cocked seals, a common cause of premature seal failure, while making installation easier, more consistent and more reliable. Its wheel seals are designed to flex with normal wheel-end movement and act like a shock absorber, helping maintain sealing performance both during installation and on the road.
The company also says its seals are easy to install with little room for error. It features a flexible construction to prevent oil from leaking and debris from getting in during installation and operation, allowing the seal to be more tolerant of variability in installation and normal wheel-end movement.

"Technicians have an important job," says Sean McDonald, president of RevHD. "Every commercial vehicle that goes back on the road depends on the quality of their work. We can't eliminate every challenge they face, but we can build products that make their jobs easier, more consistent and more forgiving. When technicians succeed, fleets suceed."
