Safety Recalls

The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):

  • Chrysler is recalling certain 2022-2025 Ram ProMaster vehicles. A software error in the security gateway module may cause the rearview camera image not to display. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility." A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 235,640 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) is recalling certain 2020-2026 Western Star 49X and 2021-2026 Western Star 47X vehicles. A stud connecting the battery to the starter at the frame rail may have been incorrectly installed, which can cause a short circuit.  A short circuit increases the risk of a fire. NHTSA says 21,560 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2021-2024 Bronco, F-150, 2021-2024 Edge, 2023-2024 Escape, F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, F-600, 2022-2024 Expedition, 2022-2025 Transit, 2021-2023 Mach-E, 2024 Ranger, Mustang, 2021-2023 Lincoln Nautilus, 2022-2024 Navigator, and 2023-2024 Corsair vehicles. A software error may cause the rearview camera image to delay, freeze, or not display when the vehicle is in reverse. A frozen or missing rearview camera image can reduce the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 1,075,299 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2024-2025 F-150 Lightning BEV vehicles. The front upper control arm ball joint nut may not have been tightened properly, allowing the front upper control arm to detach from the knuckle assembly. A detached control arm can cause a loss of vehicle steering and control, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 29,501 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2022-2023 Transit vehicles previously repaired incorrectly under recall number 22V415. The Instrument Panel Cluster may not properly illuminate warning lights or gauges. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS number 101, "Control and Displays." An instrument panel that does not illuminate critical safety information, such as the speedometer or warning lights, can increase the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 3,506 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Mack Trucks is recalling certain 2026 Mack MD vehicles. The center bench seat belt assembly may be routed incorrectly. An incorrectly routed seat belt assembly may not restrain an occupant as intended, increasing the risk of injury in a crash. NHTSA says 42 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Orange EV is recalling certain 2024 HUSK-e, 2023-2025 e-TRIEVER, and 2017-2024 T-Series trucks. The pintle hook partially blocks the center of the backup lights. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." Obstructed backup lights can reduce the vehicle's visibility to pedestrians or other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 301 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Volvo Trucks North America is recalling certain 2025-2026 Volvo VN trucks. The power cables may have been improperly routed, which can cause an electrical short. An electrical short can cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash. An electrical short can also cause the cables to overheat, increasing the risk of a fire. NHTSA says 224 units are potentially affected by the recall.
